For site updates, I think I'll make at most one post per month, and continuously add any additional updates during the month to this monthly post. This way, I am not clogging the blog with posts about web maintenance, haha. Preview images added Added Open Graph Support to this sketchblog Also added to Duskbirds and the G Gundam Round 5 Fan Translation Site Only works for the sites above - does not work with the portfolio site ( LizLiu.com ). That will be a future update. :) Image previews should now show when sharing any page from this sketchblog (as well as Duskbirds

I’ve had this sketch of Domon Kasshu sitting around for a while – maybe posting it will hasten my finishing it. Or, maybe this will be the final version of it. Who knows! I’ve had a number of G Gundam artworks in various stages of completion from over the years, and I hope I can...Continue Reading

Edit: February 6, 2025 I decided to refine the Malyck drawing a bit more, seen above! I since wrote on the following page, and there was quite a bit of see-through. I tried to remove it as best I could digitally, but it makes me consider acquiring a pencil board in the future. There is...Continue Reading

Happy Year of the Snake! I’ve had a sketch of Aurelle with her pet snake or familiar I did a while ago, and today seemed an opportune time to try and add to it. This is how the sketch looked when I opened it up earlier today: For reference, here’s how large Julius is normally:...Continue Reading

I've been making some small UI tweaks to this blog and my main site that I wanted to document for myself somewhere - and this blog seems the perfect place to do so! Name change The first change, which is both the most and least obvious, is I changed the address for this blog. The old address for this blog was: LizLiu.com/sketchblog The new address for this blog is now: Landylachs.com/sketchblog However, if you happened to click on both links, you'll see that they both work! I was really happy to discover a way to do this. I'm going to start using the Landy domain

Warm-up sketch from yesterday, touched-up a bit today. I liked it yesterday, but don't like it looking at it again today. Ah well. More in the full post!

Recently finished this GW2 commission for Rafael! His character, Lilly, who is a bloodstone-themed elementalist! Initial sketch ideas! I had several ideas come to mind based on Rafael’s description for Lilly, as he had a specific mood and personality in mind for her portrait. I always love working from a written description. It’s very satisfying...Continue Reading

Happy New Year! Wow, it’s been a bit since I last updated here. I’ve been meaning to start updating my sketchblog again for a while, and the new year seems like a prime time to start. My plan is to start using this blog as an additional archive for posts I make on social media....Continue Reading

Happy Thanksgiving! We are likely cooking up a storm in the kitchen right now, but let’s cross-celebrate with a compilation post with a few recent sketches. Above is a profile sketch practice of Corveil. I was mainly imagining a slightly different shape for the tip and bridge of his nose. Also, his hair was originally...Continue Reading

Crop from an Arquel painting I think might be fun to finish. Corveil in his fancy new parka. This was mainly an excuse to try out the design. Corveil in his parka with the hood up. Arquel practice. Crop from an Arquel painting I was fiddling with. For whatever reason, I seem to tend to...Continue Reading

Forest sketch. Autumnal forest sketch. Forest stream idea.

I’ve been wanting to start compiling the sketches I’ve been doing this year in this sketchblog to have a place to organize things a bit more. Crop of a painting with Arquel and Corveil from a while back. Underpainting of Arquel with his hair tied back. I think monochromatic underpainting might still be my favorite...Continue Reading
