" One of the bonus illustrations from The Harbinger's Path print version! Now that the books have been in the hands of people for a while, I figured enough time has passed to begin showing some of the bonus artwork drawn for them.  This artwork was originally started several years ago! In-progress comic panel showing "Riannoc" from Guild Wars 2. I've been having so much fun drawing this page, and couldn't resist posting a progress crop. I watched the Silo S3 finale & -penultimate episodes last Friday, and I loved these episodes so much, I'm still thinking about them days later! Because of that incredible finale (and penultimate episode), I felt very inspired to draw something from the show. I ended up starting with a few sketch thumbnails while figuring out what from the show I most wanted to draw, and the above is the result of this experimentation. This one isn't a finished painting and is more of another "sketch-painting," as I drew it mainly for practice, and without a developed idea from the start.  Because

"Mr. Leon Kennedy."  I drew this in July, shortly after my partner & I finished our first playthrough of "Resident Evil: Requiem." Not only was this the first RE game I played, it's both the first horror and shooter game I've ever played! While I grew up playing games and have always loved them, I tended toward RPG's, simulations, and action-adventure games. I was never drawn to shooters or horror games, which makes me want to share how I made my foray into this game (and subsequently RE2r, and just starting RE3r last night!). Silly painting I felt inspired to try drawing after chatting with a friend about the Guild Wars 3 redesign for the "asura" species, from the Guild Wars franchise, where they have a more "fuzzy" design.  My favorite asura NPC is probably Gorrik, and I thought it'd be great fun drawing him with an overly fluffy neck, alpaca-style. I don't entirely think this was a successful test - Gorrik looks a bit too much like he's wearing an elaborate fur coat to me - but it was fun drawing something so silly.  Process in the full post: 

I learned earlier this month that Michael Donovan, the voice actor for Malyck from Guild Wars 2, unfortunately passed away earlier this year in March. He was 72. The characters I tend to be most fond of in this game are often a result of how the VA's approach their characters, and this certainly included Malyck. A friend linked me this post on reddit for a different fandom (here), where Donovan seemed quite beloved by many fans. He will be missed!  More in the full post!

Duskbirds Comics Volume 1 is currently available at Seattle Paper Pushers for a limited time! "All these years later and I still hear its echoes in my head." - "Solitary Sylvari" from the Festival of the Four Winds This is one of my favorite festivals in Guild Wars 2! Small WIP panel crop from Nightmare's Embrace I've been drawing recently - as well as, I soft-launched the info page for the comic last week, on July 22, 2026! I plan to retouch some of the artwork on it, as two of the profile artworks use older art (while the third is one of the paintover practices touched-up from last year), before sharing the page more widely.
