I’ve been meaning to update The Harbinger Path index page with a banner header for a while, and finally had a chance to today!  I mainly wanted to change it because I always thought the full cover wrap-around looked a bit clunky in this screen format (my mind envisioned it as a wallpaper or book...Continue Reading

Super rough Cadeyrn warm-up! I’ve been wanting to sketch the ending portion of Ree Soesbee’s “Dream and Nightmare” passages, particularly the final one describing Cadeyrn after he’s founded the Nightmare Court. The specific portion reads:  Cadeyrn lounged on his throne with a careless, prideful slouch. A crown of golden vine glittered on his forehead as...Continue Reading

Happy New Year! I have so much I want to post, but those will take me a little more time to write (I've had very little time in the start of the new year, though some exciting news to share later!) - I wanted to post something quick in the meantime!

It’s been a while since I did an end-of-year art summary! I tried to show a variety, as it could have easily been mostly comic pages this year. The Harbinger’s Path was definitely my main creative fixation for 2025. :D  I didn’t realize until counting just now, but I finished exactly 50 comic pages...Continue Reading

I did this warm-up sketch a few days ago (the b&w one below), and added color today as another quick warm-up. I want to consider doing more warm-ups which add upon previous warm-ups, as I think I'm more personally satisfied with the results. This is also how the 2d animation with the both of them was worked on earlier this year, which makes me think this type of workflow might work for how I draw,  More in the full post!

Had the urge to do some warm-up sketching by partially painting over this ancient Murkoph drawing I did ages and ages ago. Murkoph, of course, is from the wonderful Unsounded webcomic!  Just a crop of the face – the original is about chest-and-up. The original is on this blog somewhere. I’m going to refrain from...Continue Reading

Edit 10:33 pm: Touched them up a bit more!  Original post below:

Eric Barone’s (“ConcernedApe”) announcement today of a new, upcoming major Stardew Valley update (v 1.7) reminded me of a painting I started during the last major update, the 1.6 update when winter outfits were added. Before the patch went live, ConcernedApe teased two portraits for the winter outfits – one which showed Sebastian!  I love...Continue Reading

A Guild Wars 2 commission for Kyris finished earlier this month! This was an especially fun one, as Kyris asked me to try a commission in the style I’ve been drawing for The Harbinger’s Path webcomic. I’ve grown to love drawing in this style over this past year, but hadn’t thought too much about potentially...Continue Reading

Spurred from a conversation with Jasmine on bluesky yesterday where she said, “trahearne is back and he’s santa– 🧑‍🎄” – which gave me a variety of amusing mental images I immediately wished to draw.  This is a warm-up sketch that I might finish another time.  This is 3/4-body in the full composition – putting it...Continue Reading

New pages will resume in January 2026!  Ah! The dreaded hiatus! I was hoping I’d be able to continue The Harbinger’s Path update schedule until Chapter 3’s conclusion. When I originally planned the page schedule, I had more time during November & December than what ended up happening. There was a point in November where...Continue Reading

"Bou and Dali" Print, Photo 01 Photo credit to the commissioner; shared here with permission.Sketchblog post for this artwork here. Ever wondered where those gorgeous prints you see in artist alley conventions are printed? Or do you have commissioned artwork you'd like printed for your personal use, but wondered where to print them? I was always curious about this - and a few years ago, I learned a little more about it!  These are adapted from two email replies I wrote a while ago for previous commissioners, who wished to print the art I painted for them afterward. I'd been considered formatting
